What is a .TRC file?
The most common data format on the web.
A TRC file is a plain-text diagnostic log written by Oracle Database to record what the server or a SQL session was doing. You can open it in any text editor (Notepad++, Vim, less), but for SQL trace output the Oracle utility tkprof turns the raw data into a readable performance report. The file itself is safe to open; the concern is that it may contain sensitive SQL and bind-variable values.
