What is a .IES file?
The most common data format on the web.
An IES file is a plain-text photometric data file that maps a light fixture's luminous intensity across every angle. Lighting designers open it in tools like Dialux or AGi32 for illuminance calculations; 3D artists load it into Blender, 3ds Max, or Revit for realistic renders. The only real conversion is IES to LDT (EULUMDAT), the European equivalent format.
