What is a .GSD file?
The most common data format on the web.
A GSD file is a Generic Station Description file for PROFIBUS industrial fieldbus devices. It is a plain ASCII text file supplied by the device manufacturer that tells PLC configuration software how to communicate with a PROFIBUS slave. Open it in any text editor to read it, or import it into Siemens TIA Portal or Step 7 to configure a network.
